- The A2000 can only have up to a maximum of 10 Megs of Auto-Config memory.
- It breaks down to a maximum of 2MB for Chip Ram, and 8MB for Fast RAM.
- The rest will be allocated as expanded memory and is still fully useable.
- If you need to allocate the Video Care memory in autoconfig space, simply
- have that function done in your startup sequence before you have your
- other memory cards or accelerators add their RAM. Most accelerator cards
- put ALL their memeory (especially if its 32-bit), strictly into expanded
- memory, and not auto-config. By allocating the video card ram first,
- you should be able to solve your problem. Then again, things such as
- an A2091 automatically allocate to autoconfig space without any special
- startup-sequence commands. What parts do you have in your system that
- allocate ANY RAM? Worst case scenario may be that you might have to
- remove 2 to 4 Megs (depending on what your video card wants) from your
- 8 Megs of Autoconfig Fast RAM. I hope someone else can try to help as
- well, as I have not directly dealt with this even though I have read about
- people having similar trouble and know a little bit about how autoconfig
- works. Anyhow... good luck!
